The Resource Center has been providing services to persons with disabilities in the Chautauqua County area since 1959. From our humble beginnings as a gathering of parents and concerned citizens who wanted to provide educational and training opportunities for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities, The Resource Center has grown into a comprehensive agency providing services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of disabilities. With 60 years of providing essential services to our community, The Resource Center remains an important asset to the area.
The Resource Center is proud to offer two types of respite care options for the community, Saturday Morning and Site-Based. The Resource Center’s Respite programs are designed to give primary caregivers of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a time to refresh from providing around the clock care for their loved one. Let The Resource Center take care of your loved one while you refresh and recharge!
The Resource Center’s Saturday Morning Program is designed to provide youths between the ages of 8 and 18, a unique opportunity to interact with their peers and participate in fun activities in the community. The Saturday Morning Program is available every Saturday between 10am and 2pm.
The Resource Center’s Site-Based Program is available Monday thru Friday, from 4pm-8pm. Site-Based Respite is also designed for youths between the ages of 8 and 18. Activities involve arts and crafts, opportunities to interact with peers, and even a daily snack.
Both of our programs are offered in Northern and Southern Chautauqua County. For more information about Respite, please contact your Medicaid Service Coordinator or Kevin Anderson at (716) 485-4602.
